Launched at BETT 2001 by education technology minister Michael Wills, Ipas’ brief is to act as an independent and free information resource for Head teachers, ICT coordinators or anyone within a school, who has responsibility for making decisions about purchasing ICT goods and services. The hub of Ipas is its website – http://ipas.ngfl.gov.uk . It includes a number of resources to assist schools in the ICT procurement process, including model documents, templates and up-to-date specifications, on-line interactive learning resources and downloadable procurement and technical guidance documents. A team of advisers, who provide face-to-face consultancy with schools and a free national seminar programme will also support the website.
